The individual individual has no place anymore in mainstream society
The difference between atheists and theists or religious people
Atheists do good deeds without expecting a slot from an imaginary place called heaven. They simply do so for without human ethics and morals, humanity cannot SURVIVE. On the other hand, most theists or religious do good deeds out of fear from God’s judgement and expect some sort of reward for being such a good person. They depend too much on a higher authority that isn’t really there to give themselves one explanation for almost everything they do not understand.
Which is: God.
